litter
The puppy or puppies from one whelping (the young of any of various canines; such as, a dog or a wolf).
llium
One of the three bony components of the pelvic girdle of a dog.
lolling tongue (s) (noun), lolling tongues (pl)
An overly long tongue which protrudes or hangs out of the mouth: Trudy's dog looks so comical walking around with its lolling tongue.
lumbering
An awkward gait or walk.
mad dog
A dog afflicted with rabies or a rabid dog.
malocclusion
An abnormality in the way the a dog's teeth come together.
mandible
The lower jaw.
mane
Long and profuse hair on the top and the sides of a dog's neck.
merry tail
A constantly wagging tail.
milk teeth
First teeth.
mongrel
1. A dog that is a mixture of different breeds.
2. A dog whose parents are of two different breeds.
muscular anatomy
The examination of the special structures of muscles, characterized by their power to contract when stimulated.

There are three types of muscles: striated or skeletal muscles, smooth or visceral muscles, and specialized cardiac muscles.

mute
1. To run mute, to be silent on the trail.
2. To trail without baying or barking.
muzzle
The head in front of the eyes; such as, nasal bones, nostrils, and jaws; the foreface.
nape
The junction of the base of the skull and the top of the neck.
