industrial lighting (s)  (noun) (no pl)
Exposed brickwork and large open-plan spaces are all key features of this style: Industrial lighting is used in large areas with high ceilings, for example in factories, that provide efficiency in bright and steady light..
loft style (s)  (noun) (no pl)
A style of design, originally from New York City, that takes over industrial spaces for use as dwellings for people: When looking for a home in the metropolis of Los Angeles, the couple found an unused floor of a building that was previously part of a factory, and decided to buy it and decorate it in a loft style, by keeping the brick walls, large windows, and very high ceiling!
maximalism (s)  (noun), maximalisms (pl)
A style of design that favors big, bold, and eccentric gestures; the opposite of minimalism: The young couple wanted to have, bright colors, and loud designs; as well as, luxurious materials and set-piece items of furniture in their new home and found out that this was termed maximalism!
minimalism (s)  (noun), minimalisms (pl)
A style of design that emphasizes space and simplicity: Minimalism uses a bare minimum of furniture within a room and limiting colors to simple, clean palettes mainly consisting of shades of white.
natural light (s)  (noun) (no pl)
Light from the sun that comes into a room through windows or skylights: When building their home, the Lawsons wanted to use as much natural light as possible, so they had large windows to let in not only the sunlight, but also light from the moon and stars!
office space (s)  (noun), office spaces (pl)
A room, or an area within a room, set aside to be used as an office space with computer equipment and communications equipment: Office spaces can be designed for occasional use or for those who work from home to use as their main place of work.

open-plan  (adjective) (not comparable)
Descriptive of a large room or area in a building that has very few walls inside: An open-plan design can have multiple functions and most often with a joint kitchen-dining-living space.
outdoor living  (adjective) (not comparable)
Referring to parts of gardens, balconies, or roof terraces that are designed to be used as everyday living spaces outdoors: The architect created an outdoor living section in the garden next to the house with an outdoor eating and cooking area.
room divider (s)  (noun), room dividers (pl)
A screen or set of shelves used to divide a large room into separate areas: The room divider that Jane bought separated her desk with a computer from the dining table and sitting area. .
tradition interior  (adjective) (not comparable)
Pertaining to a design that opts for classic, time-tested looks; Such tradition interior concepts can be exemplified by a traditional leather couch rather than a trendy new design that may go out of fashion very swiftly.

Interior designers can opt to incorporate traditional elements into their design or to react against customs.

vintage  (adjective), more vintage, most vintage
Referring to objects that are classic or old enough to be notably outdated, but not thought to be antique: While looking around in the antique shop, Joe found some vintage magazines and purses that his mother used to have, and even some vintage video games from the 1980s!
wet room (s)  (noun), wet rooms (pl)
A bathroom that has a shower that is not surrounded by any barrier: A wet room, otherwise known as a "walk in shower" room, is a fully watertight room that has no separate area for the shower; instead the shower head sprays directly on to the floor inside the room.
